Miyoko's Creamery Sharp Cheddar-Style Cheese Sauce is ready-to-heat: shake or stir well before using as separation may occur. Place over medium heat and stir a few times to prevent sticking. The sauce will thicken as it heats. Once bubbling and the texture of a rich cream sauce, it is ready to eat! It will thicken more as it cools down. If you are baking a casserole in the oven, there is no need to thicken beforehand, the cheese sauce will thicken as it bakes.

How long can the heat and serve cheese sauce be kept in the refrigerator or freezer?
It's 30-days from when we ship from our facility (therefore about 28-days by the time it arrives at your doorstep). You can also freeze this item to extend shelf life and then you'll want to consume it within 30-days of thawing in the fridge. It will keep for a few months in the freezer but it's best consumed within 6 months.
I bought this a few weeks back and was wondering if there are any suggestions for using this as anything other than sauce or in different recipes? Has anyone tried using it as a spread? I'm excited to try it! thanks.
The most common use is in Mac and Cheese but you can definitely get creative! We’ve seen it used as a sandwich or burger spread. Heat it up to thicken and spread it on bread or bun. You can also drizzle it on steamed broccoli, vegetables, chips (for nachos) or even french fries (chill cheese fries)!
For mac and cheese how many ounces of pasta will one 10 oz cheese sauce cover?
For a 10oz tub of our Cheese Sauce use 3/4 of a pound of pasta for medium sauce coverage. Use 1/2 pound of pasta for really cheesy coverage.
